Congo - Kivu Katanda - Africa
This is a very unique and exciting coffee. Our Congo Kivu Katanda is a Bourbon
and, while not as bright as some East Africans, it is definitely one not to
miss! This is the kind of great coffee we have not seen out of Congo in a
while!
Flavor Observations
A Heavy syrupy body, with complex overtones and hints of oak and spice. A
wonderfully complex aroma with a soft start and finish, very easy in the cup.
There is a big “mouthfeel” with this Congo.
When roasted Darker to a Vienna, a French Press will really bring out the
full boldness and syrupy body
Our Medium Full City (+) Roast will highlight the complexities and bring out
the brighter qualities.
Additional Information
Kivu is the general name for East Congo covering a very broad geographical
area. It borders on Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and Lake Tanganyika on the east.
