Larger companies and chains follow a Roast-to-Inventory philosophy. This means they have chosen to maintain a standing inventory of roasted coffee and mass roast extremely large quantities of coffee at a time.
More efficient?  Less costly?  Yes, but at the expense of freshness and control. To be more precise, the majority of the coffee found on shelves in stores is old and stale. This process jeopardizes the "specialty" of specialty coffee.
Furthermore, large chains are everywhere and can be impersonal. In the end, they create a desire for the hand-made and the personal.

At Storehouse Coffee Company, we have purposed ourselves to follow a
Roast-to-Order philosophy.
This means that we roast to order; literally. We will not roast one single coffee bean until we have an order from you. The truth is that there is a very short window where roasted coffee will retain it's "freshness"; that just roasted freshness. Roasting-to-Order allows us to closely control the roasting process and the freshness. This in turn will be clearly evident in your cup.

Once you have tasted coffee just out of the roaster, you will never be satisfied with store bought coffee again; we guarantee it.

We know the destination of the coffee (your coffee) as we load it into the roaster and we roast it with you in mind. As we get to know and understand what you like, we can even tweak the roast to suit you!

Roasting coffee is truly an art form; it requires a hands-on approach to realize a particular level of excellence. Our hands-on Artisan roasting approach is the process by which we are able to deliver you the unique qualities of each of our 100% Arabica coffee selections from around the world. This is the process that sets us apart from the larger companies and which will provide you the exceptional coffee experience you will never forget.

Although roasting to order tends to be more expensive to produce, administer, and ship, it is worth it. We do not pass the extra cost on to you as we are not trying to compete with the larger companies; we are concerned about consistent quality and value to you.
