Jamaican Blue Mountain - 100% Pure

Fully Washed, Patio Dried, 100% Pure and Certified!

Rich, Balanced, Chocolaty, Incredibly Smooth

This 100% Blue Mountain Coffee is Certified by the Jamaican Department of Agriculture

True Blue Mountain Coffee is a highly sought after and regarded by many as one of the best coffees in the world!
It is a full bodied coffee that is seriously smooth and without a hint of bitterness, providing a rich, chocolaty, well-balanced cup with very low acidity.

Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee is one of the rarest coffees in the world, produced in relatively small quantities each year.
Additionally, the coffee is only grown in the eastern part of the island between 2,000 to 5,000 ft., and only from one of five certified estates.

The bulk of Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee is exported to Japan, creating a high 'supply and demand' environment, and thus the elevated price.

Is it worth the indulgence?
For those of us who love extraordinary Single Origin coffees, I will have to say, Yes!

General Flavor Observations
Jamaican Blue Mountain - 100% Pure

Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee has a noticeably clean and sweet flavor that exhibits an incredibly smooth mouth-feel, with mild hints of fruit, and a long, rolling finish.
Chocolate and honey tones are prominent along with hints of lemon, and perhaps, orange as the cup cools.
The aroma is amazing with pleasing attributes ranging from nutty, to cocoa, to herbal. The finish is long and without any bitterness at all.

Rare, unique, and one of a kind!

Roast Level Profile Notes
Jamaican Blue Mountain - 100% Pure

My preferred roast level for this lot of Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee is definitely a Full City roast.
However, each roast has something unique and wonderful to offer, so don't hesitate to experiment!

We are always happy to accommodate any roast level you prefer.
The notes below explain how the various roast levels will alter the profile:

City Roast (light roast)

This roast level will offer a lighter body with a nice nuttiness and prominent herbal spice qualities. The finish will be brighter with forward notes of lemon. The mouth-feel will be round, chocolaty, and smooth.

Full City Roast (medium roast) - Preferred

Full City is such an excellent roast level for this coffee. The mouth-feel is super smooth, rolling in chocolate and honey, with a mild spiciness and lemon to orange highlights as the cup cools. The finish is long and without any bitterness at all. Superb!!

Full City (+) Roast

This roast level will offer a more silky quality to the mouth-feel and the sense of a deeper body; not actually a heavier body, but deeper. Little to no acidity or brightness is to be found, which translates to a loss of the milder fruit tones. However, dark chocolate tones emerge, and more of a brown sugar sweetness. The finish is silky and tapers off slowly.

Vienna Roast

A Vienna Roast is really pushing this wonderful coffee to the edge. While I don't honestly recommend it, the benefits are a deep, syrupy mouth-feel, that is smooth and long with notes of dark chocolate. This roast level could work if paired with a sweet dessert.

French Roast

Definitely Not recommended.

Additional Information
Jamaican Blue Mountain - 100% Pure

This 100% Pure Blue Mountain Coffee, Certified by the Jamaican Department of Agriculture, is not a blend.

This lot of Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee was grown in the renowned Clydesdale coffee growing region located in the parish of St. Andrew.
The original Clydesdale Estate was founded by Dr. Colin McClarty, a British citizen, in the late 1700’s.
Though no longer actively producing coffee, the Clydesdale Estate remains a historical icon of coffee production in Jamaica.

The Clydesdale region, for which this coffee is named, is located on the southern slopes of Jamaica’s Blue Mountains.

In 1953, the Coffee Industry Board of Jamaica granted special status to Blue Mountain coffee, establishing a standard all exported coffee must meet to earn the Jamaican Blue Mountain mark.

  • Region: Parish of St. Andrew (formerly Port Royal), Jamaica
  • Traceable: Clydesdale.
  • Elevation: 3,281 - 4,921 ft.
  • Process: Fully Washed

  • Arabica Variety: Villa Sarchi

5 Stars
Incredible delight!
This is an incredible smooth coffee which should be enjoyed in medium roast. It has the longest finish of all coffees I have tasted so far. Joe has already described perfectly the many flavors and I love especially the prevalent nutty aroma which makes that coffee so lovely. Do not approach the coffee with too high of expectations since triple price does not mean triple better than other coffees. However it is a fantastic indulgence for special occasions. It should be on your bucket list.
