I have roasted these two new coffees for myself and here are my thoughts on them.
- El Salvador - Santa Ana
- This is a great coffee and one that was prepared using a really interesting process called Honeyed or Pulp Natural, which is a cross between Natural and Washed. You can read more about this process on the product paged linked below.
The coffee will have a medium to full body, depending on the roast level, with notes of milk chocolate, cherry, and toffee. This coffee has such a wonderful profile, particularly at a Full City roast, and I really like it as an afternoon coffee.
- Sulawesi (Celebes) Kalossi
- Up next we have New crop arrival of Sulawesi. As you might know, Sulawesi has seen a lot of natural disasters this year, so we are truly fortunate to have a supply of this long time favorite.
If you are a fan of darker roasted coffee, this is not one to miss. It exhibits tons of character and complexity no matter the roast level. It is exceptionally smooth with flavors of spice and herbs, mingled with deep chocolate and caramel undertones. The body is huge and rich with a mouth feel that is full and creamy.
While I am not usually a fan of darker roasted coffees, this is definitely an exception for me. I prefer it at a Full City (+), but our most popular roast level is Vienna. Our Sulawesi makes for a great morning and after dinner coffee. Enjoy!
Until next time...
